Therapy that keeps working between sessions, in Roswell and across Georgia.

We're the homework therapists. A group practice for adults, teens and couples, near downtown Roswell and by secure video statewide. Start with a free 15-minute call; next-day appointments are often available.

Why we call it homework

1 hour. The other 167 hours of the week are where therapy has to work.

A session runs 45 to 60 minutes, weekly or every other week. Real change happens between sessions, so we go beyond regular talk therapy: you leave the room with one small thing to practice, and the next session starts from what happened when you tried it.

What we help with

“It doesn’t feel forced.”

Rated 5.0 on Google across 3 reviews. Quoted exactly as written.

I was referred to Towler Counseling by a friend a few years ago, and I've been going ever since. I was a little unsure at first, but it ended up being a really good fit. My therapist and I mostly just talk through whatever's going on, but it doesn't feel forced or overly structured. We've also spent time figuring out what growth actually looks like for me, which has been really helpful in a practical way, not just something we talk about and forget. I've been there for a few years now and it's just been a really steady, positive thing in my life. I'm really glad I found them.
Grayce Morris, Google review

“I had never been to therapy before so when I started therapy at Towler counseling, I was nervous, but my therapist in our initial session made it so easy to open up and feel safe and we've accomplished a lot through my own trauma and healing and setting goals.”

The homework

Something small to carry into the week

Most of our clinicians work from CBT, DBT and IFS. You leave with one thing to practice: a thought to catch, a skill to try, a conversation to have.

Because real change happens between sessions. Most of our clinicians use CBT and DBT, which means you leave a session with something small to practice during the week: a thought record, a skill to try, a conversation to have. The next session starts from what happened when you tried it.

Fees are set by each clinician. Current rates: Grace Cox (clinical intern) $65; Carson Schefstad $140 to $175; John McCord $150 to $170; Paul Burkhalter $200 for individuals and $200 to $250 for couples; Tara Towler-Cumby $225 to $250. Ask about the sliding scale when you call.
